Nashoba Valley Medical Center is a community hospital serving 11 communities in North Central Massachusetts. A member of Steward Health Care, the largest fully integrated community care organization in New England, the hospital boasts a highly qualified medical staff with 115 active and associate member physicians offering community-based primary care and a wide range of specialty services.

Clinical strengths at Nashoba Valley Medical Center include emergency medicine, fully digital, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology, orthopedics and general surgery.

The hospital also offers a diverse array of outpatient services in its Ambulatory Care Center, and a broad spectrum of services in an onsite Occupational Health Center focused on prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses, rehabilitation, and management of return-to-work issues.

Friends of NVMC Scholarship

The Friends of Nashoba Valley Medical Center are accepting applications from graduating students in the hospital's service area which includes, Ayer, Harvard, Littleton, Westford, Groton, Dunstable, Pepperell, Shirley, Lunenburg, Devens, Townsend and Acton-Boxboro. Applications are available from the Guidance Department in each high school or can be downloaded here.

The primary goal of this award is to assist students who are going on to higher education in any of the many medical fields, such as nursing, radiology, physical therapy, oncology, speech therapy, laboratory sciences and the numerous other branches of medicine.

Nashoba Valley Medical Center Gave $704,000 in Community Benefits in 2014

Nashoba Valley Medical Center (NVMC) provided an estimated $704,000 in community benefits last fiscal year. The hospital’s reported total community benefit expenditures of $704,442 in fiscal year 2014 included free or discounted care provided directly to patients and was among the more than $631 million in benefits provided statewide by Massachusetts nonprofit and for-profit hospitals.

Nashoba Valley Medical Center, in Partnership with Mount Wachusett Community College, Receives Nearly a Quarter of a Million Dollar Grant toward an Employee Health Care Training Program

Nashoba Valley Medical Center has been named a recipient of a $248,175 Health Care Workforce Transformation Grant to enhance its overall patient experience through an employee designated health care training program. NVMC has partnered with Mount Wachusett Community College to provide training to all 448 members of the hospital staff over a 24-month period.

Nashoba Valley Medical Center Opens New Eye Care Institute and Welcomes Retina Surgeon Dr. Gisela Velez

Nashoba Valley Medical Center has expanded its ophthalmic surgery services and recently welcomed Dr. Gisela Velez, a highly skilled retina surgeon, to the medical staff. Velez is the only retina surgeon practicing in Nashoba Valley and joins Ophthalmologist Dr. Steven Brusie in performing eye surgery for patients at NVMC’s new Eye Care Institute.
