On April 8, 2013 Nashoba Valley Medical Center will begin hosting The Deep River Sampler, a four-week seminar about utilizing inner knowing to find purpose in everyday life.

The program, which will be on consecutive Mondays from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. or Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the hospital, is based on the book, Finding the Deep River Within: A Woman’s Guide to Recovering Balance and Meaning in Everyday Life.  The book introduces the three preliminary doorways and six core practices that can allow our own deeper currents to flow through daily life. By discovering and drawing on our Deep River, we can counteract the fragmentation and sheer pace of life so we can find inspiration and balance. The cost of the program is $65.

The seminar will be facilitated by Kathy Benson, LICSW, a clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, adults and families as a psychotherapist and emergency service clinician.
Benson, who is currently the clinical social worker at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, has completed trainings in the Deep River Program and the UMMC Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program, along with multiple trainings at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
