Dr. de la Torre graduated from Duke University in 1988 (BSE), where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, and from a joint program between Harvard Medical School (MD) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MS) in 1992. Prior to joining Steward, he was Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
